Assistant Buyer/Administrator for Vintage and Used Inventory

Hours              :  40+ hours per week (flexible days at first until a schedule is determined)


Overview - This is an Assistant Buyer/Administrative position for the Vintage and Used Department at Chicago Music Exchange.

Requirements: A great attitude and eagerness to learn and be part of a team. Working knowledge of guitar and drum gear, with an interest in vintage/used inventory is a must. Comfortable with basic computer functions on a Mac and data manipulation through the use of spreadsheets. Vintage knowledge is a plus, but eagerness to learn and a good attitude are far more important.


Duties include, but are not limited to:

●Actively seeking out and purchasing vintage/used inventory under direction of the Vintage Manager

●Assisting the Vintage Manager and Head Buyer with daily administrative tasks

● Assisting the Vintage Manager with organization and management of inventory

● Assisting and interacting with in-store and remote buys and trades in a friendly and professional manner

● Assisting the Vintage Manager with the authentication of vintage guitars

● Assisting the Vintage Manager with organization and productivity-enhancing projects

● Researching and adding to the overall knowledge-base of the firm

● Aditional tasks associated with delivering revenue results to the firm


Initial 90-Day performance review.  Subsequent reviews done annually.
