E-Commerce Product Coordinator

Chicago Music Exchange needs an eCommerce Product Coordinator to manage product listings for guitars, drums, and other musical instruments within our fast-growing retail environment. For more than 25 years, Chicago Music Exchange has been successful in raising the bar in our industry; we love to blow customers away when they walk in our showroom and we provide the same feeling online. This position gives you experience working within a multi-channel eCommerce ecosystem. The right candidate will be responsible for maintaining consistency between platforms, and doing so with an eye for detail and a passion for learning new musical equipment and technologies.

This position will be at least 75% data entry; we are looking for someone who enjoys working independently, accomplishing goals and problem solving, particularly with spreadsheets and large quantities of information.

Responsibilities include:

Create website product listings, including on third party marketplaces, such as Reverb.com, Amazon and more.
Maintain and edit product listings with regular changes and updates
Communicate regularly with Product Buying department to ensure most accurate data possible
Write and implement creative copy to drive traffic to product pages
Work directly with photographers to plan for daily goals and push products to web
Meet and exceed expectations regarding efficiency of listing and quality control
Continuously contribute to overall development of the Chicago Music Exchange sales channels and brand
General maintenance of product feed(s) and collections of products on website

 

Requirements:

Acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines a must
Strong musical instrument knowledge, both vintage and new
Well-organized; time management skills a must
Great communication skills, both written and oral
Sense of urgency and ability to multitask and prioritize key projects
Working knowledge of, and confidence in, Excel-type spreadsheets and manipulating large data sets including: basic lookup functionality, arithmetic formulas, import/export functionality, etc.
Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and other programming languages
Mac OSX proficiency

 

Preferred additional skills and qualities:

Musical instrument retail experience
Experience with Amazon, Ebay, Reverb.com, Shopify, and other content management systems
An interest in, or a basic experience with, product photography
SEO copywriting skills
Editing and proofreading experience a plus
Exposure to NetSuite a major plus
